Goodwill BridgePointe Services has been evolving for 78 years and our evolution is the result of hard work and dedication on the part of dozens of individuals and organizations.
It was 1930 when Helen K. Barth and Rev. William Bartle saw the need in our community and formed New Albany's first Goodwill store. Years later in 1961, the Jeffersonville Rotary Club met the community's challenge to raise $10,000 to create the Southeastern Indiana Rehabilitation Center. Then in 1984, Goodwill and the Rehabilitation Center merged and became Bridgepointe Services Goodwill.
In 2008, the agency decided to "Embrace Our Goodwill Roots" and changed our name to Goodwill BridgePointe Services. The agency still provides the same great services to children and adults with disabilities and disadvantages including early childhood services, rehabilitation, therapy and employment services to our community. |
